Employment contracts are to a large extent regulated in the Swiss Code of Obligations and in the Labour Law. Any possible collective labour agreements (GAV) and regular working contracts (NAV) have to be considered. Employment contracts are not required in writing. Nevertheless, a written employment contract is recommended. This means recording essential parts of the agreement and excluding ambiguities. It is the basis of all legal disputes.
